📊 How to Get Your First 1,000 Views on a YouTube Video…

If you want to break 1,000 views on YouTube, then you’ll need to focus 80% of your efforts on the thumbnail.

I’ve produced over 2,000+ videos and many of them have failed to break 1,000 views because my thumbnails didn’t convince my audience to click and watch. I’ve boiled down my YouTube Intro formula down to 4 simple steps. The key is to focus on the thumbnail.

1. — Pose 10 Times 🎭

Right before you hit RECORD, strike 10 different poses.

This is how the Pros get those great thumbnail faces that match the video. Set your camera to timer mode and do a few exaggerated emotions — super happy, angry, frustrated, guilty, crying, AMAZED. These facial expressions will help build curiosity for your video. People will want to know “Why are they so angry?” “Wow! They look super excited about this…”

3. Erase.bg ✒️

Take those 10 photos and upload them to this site.

It will auto-magically erase your background. This will literally help you stand out from the background. You’ll be able to put any stock photo or color background behind you.

3. Affinity Photo 🎨

I can recommend Canva, but I am in LOVE with Affinity Photo.

It has 150% the power of Photoshop — but it’s a one-time fee of $55. This way you aren’t limited in what you want to create for your eye-catching thumbnail. A great thumbnail takes experimentation and this software will let you run free.

4. The No-Fluff Intro 🍔

Ok, some actual video advice: Cut to the chase.

As a video opener, I want you to literally say, “In this video, I’m going to talk about…” Once you’ve set the stage, go right into your BEST, most POWERFUL point first. Don’t waste your viewers’ time. Let them decide if this topic is right for them in the first 10 seconds.

Your 1st 1,000 views are largely determined by your thumbnail. Build curiosity with a funny face and then keep that curiosity in your first 10 seconds.
